UPDATE!
The bill here in Colorado that we have discussed is being heard on the CO Senate floor IN THE NEXT 2 DAYS. The bill has been amended, and if it does not pass the process in both the Senate and the House, it will die by Wednesday, May 7, 2025. I have contacted several senators, especially those who represent El Paso County to encourage them to vote NO on HB25-1312.
I encourage you to do the same. I included my simple email below. Feel free to copy and paste if you so desire. I have also included the link to where you can find legislators and their contact information.
Pastor Phil
“Senator,
I am writing to urge you to vote NO on HB25-1312. The bill is an egregious overreach of the State’s power over parental rights, school choice, and the health and safety of our children. In addition, it encourages an ideology that does significant harm to children and families and is in open contradiction to God’s good, created order.
Thank you for your service to our community, and I am praying for the hearing and vote.
Phil Steiger”
There are at least two bills in process in the State of Colorado that stand radically against the good of our children and families. It is not an exaggeration to say that both of these bills are anti-family and anti-child, in that one will remove parental rights and the other allows groomer groups into the public school system without parental input. The one that needs critical attention right now is HB25-1312.
Both bills promote ideas and state powers that are in direct contradiction to God’s Word and created order for family and the church.
It is important that Christians and people of reason stand up against CO25-HB1312.
There are several ways to make your voice heard. Below, I have listed the members of the critical committees now in play along with their email addresses. If you don’t feel like writing a long letter, you can simply put, “NO on HB1312” in the subject line. But numbers matter, so I encourage you to do at least that!
